Esha Momeni is a graduate student in CSUN's mass comm department (where I just finished my MA) and has been interviewing women in Iran for thesis. Last week, she was arrested.
Dr. Melissa Wall, Momeni's thesis chair (also, my former thesis chair), is blogging about the situation on her
site. Per Dr. Wall's site, there is a
petition for her release, as well as an Amnesty International
writing campaign. Also, there is a Free Esha blog over
here.
This is a very sad and scary situation. Please take the time to show some support.
