Threshold Sound + Vision and More
Recording studios are fun. I remember hanging out with Carlos in the LMU studios when we were seniors and he was recording Crom's first album and I was, quite frankly, overwhelmed by the site of all the knobs and buttons. It was enough to make my head spin, but he was good at explaining how things works, so now, when I go into studios for work purposes, I have enough of an idea of how music is made to (hopefully) ask good questions.
The actual interview was lengthy and a lot of the conversation was quite technical, so when I was actually writing the piece, I had to continually remind myself that I'm not writing for a gearhead magazine and then try to simplify things. Hopefully, it worked.
I also contributed a piece on Salvador Santana Band. I was kind of excited that I got through the entire interview without asking him questions about being the son of a very famous musician. I figured he had probably been asked that enough times.
