This Sucks

Paraphrased from the Daily News crime reports and Glendale New Press:

A vandal spray-painted the Turkish flag on St. Peter's Armenian Church in Glendale. Incident was reported Monday afternoon. Glendale police liken the incident to painting a swastika on a Jewish synagogue. The congregation is headed by Der Hayr Vazken Movsesian, who is known for speaking out about genocide.


In 2006, Father Movsesian went to Rwanda and wrote this blog about genocide.

What's worse than the actual act of vandalism is reading chat board discussions regarding the news story. I shouldn't even look at that because everyone knows that chat boards tend to attract jerks who talk big but can't handle posting their real names. (I won't deign to link to the discussions, just use Google if you must.)

Fools, they are, chanting rants of "Armenians Go Home," when, in all likeliness, many of our families have probably been here longer than their own. If that weren't true, than yogurt and Almond Joy wouldn't exist. Nor would Alvin & the Chipmunks. Nor Cher.
